Pennsylvania author PJ Piccirillo will be on hand to participate with book
club readers and fans alike as they discuss his historical novel, The Indigo Scarf.

Based on the true story of two escaped slaves who fled their owners with
white women into the wilderness of the upper Susquehanna River in the early
1800s, The Indigo Scarf interprets how slavery persisted in the north during
the nineteenth century.

PJ Piccirillo is the author of the novels The Indigo Scarf and Heartwood,
and the collected novella and stories Nunc Stans-A Ferry Tale. He has twice
won the Appalachian Writers Association Award for Short Fiction. PJ is a
literary artist-in-residence for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and
has worked as a literary scholar for the PA Humanities Council.

This is a hybrid event meaning patrons can register for attending in-person or via Zoom. If registering in-person please be mindful that there is a limited amount of space and to register for each person individually.
