Smart 911

Smart 911

Smart 911 is a completely secure and private website.  Residents control what information they want 9-1-1 and first responders to have in an emergency situation. The safety profile enables faster and more effective emergency response by law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services.

The Smart 911 platform provides tools that save critical time in an emergency, when mere seconds can make a big difference. The additional information helps the 9-1-1 call takers know exact locations and what assistance is needed, often at a time when the person calling 9-1-1 may not be able to communicate those details. Residents can customize their profile and share any information they want the 9-1-1 call taker and response teams to have in the event of an emergency. The information is seen only when the resident dials 9-1-1 and it is automatically displayed to the 9-1-1 call taker, allowing him or her to send the right response team to the right location with the right information. The information then disappears after 1 hour, this way no information is stored to be given out at a later time.

With Smart 911, county residents can link both home and work addresses to mobile phones, which can be passed on to responders in the field for a more detailed, rapid response. Additional information, including pets in the home, vehicle details in the event of an accident, and emergency contacts can all be included in the safety profile. All information is optional and anyone registering can choose what information he or she wants to include.

Once a Smart 911 profile is created, it can appear in any 9-1-1 center throughout the nation that uses the system. So if a resident of Chester County is involved in an emergency situation in another municipality that uses Smart 911, the safety profile information will appear on the 9-1-1 call taker’s screen when the emergency call is made.

Retierment- Ann Novelli

It is with both happiness and sadness that I must announce the retirement of Anne Novelli after 35 years of service to the Malvern Police Department and the people of our Borough.

Malvern is a special place and no one reflects the character of our community more than Anne. Born and raised in the Borough and then raising her own family here with her late husband, Joe, she has always put helping others and making our town better first. That is why so many know her as “Mrs. Malvern.”

A dedicated member of the Police Department, Anne has given selflessly whenever something is needed. From cancelling planned vacations to rushing into the office for an emergency, she is always there.

Most important is Anne’s commitment to the men and women of the Malvern PD. She is considered by many to be the “police mom” to all, her care and worry for the members of our force are endless.

Anne’s spirit, kind nature and commitment are irreplaceable and we will be sad to see her go. The department is happy for the future that lays before her, and wish her the very best in all she does in retirement.

The members of Malvern Police wish you well Anne, and want you to know you will always be welcome here.
