On March 27, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf signed into law Act 10 of 2020. This Act extended the deadline for filing 2019 Local Earned Income Tax Returns. The new filing deadline will be July 15, 2020 with Keystone Collections Group (the appointed Earned Income Tax collection agency for Chester County). This new deadline also applies to individuals who file quarterly estimated payments. Keystone Collections Group will not apply penalties or interest on 2019 Local Earned Income Tax Returns or first quarter 2020 estimated payments until after July 15, 2020. Questions regarding filing should be directed to Keystone Collections Group. This extension only applies to 2019 and will revert back to the standard deadline effective July 31, 2020.
Please note that this does not apply to Real Estate Tax payments due to Malvern Borough. Those payments are still due on the following dates as indicated on the Real Estate Tax Bills that have been issued by Malvern Borough: April 30, 2020 (end of the discount payment period) and June 30, 2020 (end of the face payment period).
Malvern Borough is working with our partners at the Great Valley School District during this time in order to help the community. Please see the information below regarding a food program that has been organized by Great Valley School District during this time.
Dear Great Valley Community,
Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this unprecedented scenario. We are diligently working to share accurate information as quickly as we can and anticipate a number of communications will be sent in the coming days, including information related to instruction and educational resources.
While our schools are closed, the Great Valley School District is committed to supporting our families who may be in need of meals. To that end, the Food and Nutrition Services Department will make meals available for students over the next two weeks.
- Both breakfast and lunch will be distributed at no cost to all students who live in the Great Valley School District at the Samuel and M. Elizabeth Burke Community Park in Malvern Borough, near St. Pat’s Church. Look for the distribution tent.
- Meals will be available for pick-up from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, March 16 and through Thursday, March 27.
- Only one day’s meals may be picked up per day.
- Meals will be available to any student, regardless of income or home school.
- This program is anonymous. Names will not be collected. We will simply be recording the number of meals we distribute.
If your student would benefit from receiving breakfast and lunch meals while schools are closed, we encourage you to participate. Please also share with other families you know.
If your family is not in need, but you would like to support this effort, monetary donations to offset the cost of this program may be made to the GVSD Education Foundation, earmarked “food program,” and mailed to GVSD Education Foundation, c/o GVSD, 47 Church Road, Malvern, PA 19355.
We look forward to providing this program for as long as we are able while schools remain closed. Like many things in this situation, information is ever-evolving. We will continue to communicate updates with you as they become available.
Regina Speaker Palubinsky, Ed.D.
